NDIS registration is Progressing…..
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) commenced in July 2013 and is administered by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). This affords all Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to enjoy an ordinary life.
People who are eligible for National Disability Insurance Scheme support are referred to as participants. Each participant will have their own NDIS plan that outlines the outcomes they aim to achieve, the services that will be funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme and other supports the participant requires. This scheme has afforded people with disability the ability to choose where and how to access their supports. Funding is directly allocated to participant to acquire the services they need, instead of funding being directly applied to the service providers. The National Disability Insurance Scheme will fund ‘reasonable and necessary’ supports needed by participants meet their needs and achieve their outcomes. Depending on participant goals, the funding in their plan may include the following:

Meet early intervention requirements where the person may not have functional deficits, but the impact of the impairment may lead to substantially reduced functional capacity without support.
